]]> किसी भी देश का साहित्य उस देश को जानने-समझने का एक अच्छा माध्यम होता है, शायद इसीलिए साहित्य को समाज का दर्पण कहा गया है। जब कोई अपने समाज स बाहर निकल कर दूसरे समाज को जानने-समझने का प्रयास करता है तो वह कई जाने-अनजाने पहलूओं से भी अवगत होता है। चेकोस्लोवाकिया (वर्तमान में चेक रिपब्लिक) ने विश्वयुद्ध की त्रासदी और नाज़ियों की तानाशाही को सहा है। विश्वयुद्ध का प्रभाव चेक साहित्य पर भी पड़ा और चेक साहित्यकारों ने अपनी सकारात्मकभूमिका निभाते हुए विश्‍व साहित्य को समृद्ध किया और कई यर्थाथवादी कालयजी कृतियाँ दीं। उपलब्ध चेक साहित्य के मूल में प्रेम और भाईचारे की प्रस्तावना है। लेखक ने इस पुस्तक में चेक साहित्य के भाषाई और सांस्कृतिक सन्दर्भों का गहराई से अध्ययन किया है। पुस्तक के माध्यम से हम चेक साहित्य से न सिर्फ परिचित हो पाएँगे बल्कि उसकी एक समझ भी पाठकों के मन में विकसित कर पाएँगे।

]]> विश्व युद्धोत्तर चेक कथा-साहित्य में विश्व युद्ध की विभीषिका और तत्कालीन चेक राष्ट्र में चल रहे नाजी  शासन के कारण आयी यातना का वर्णन है। चेकोस्लोवाकिया ही नहीं यूरोप के कई राष्ट्र हिटलर की तानाशाही से जूझ रहे थे, यातना के शिकार थे। इन सब की छाया से तत्कालीन साहित्य भी प्रभावित हुआ। यान ओत्चेनाशेक, जुलियस यूचिक, जोसेफ श्कवोरेस्की, यान नेरुदा, कारेल चापेक, आदि के लेखन में विश्वयुद्ध का प्रभाव स्पष्ट रूप से देखा जा सकता है। कई चेक लेखक ऐसे हैं जिन्होंने हिटलर के यातना-शिविर में सजा भी काटी है। इन लेखकों ने हिटलर के यातना-शिविर के बारे में और तत्कालीन सामाजिक परिस्थिति को आधार बना कर कहानियाँ, कविताएँ, नाटक, डायरी, उपन्यास आदि प्रमुखता से लिखे। इस पुस्तक में प्रारभिक चेक साहित्य से लेकर आधुनिक साहित्य तक का विश्‍लेषण करने की कोशिश की गयी है, जो साहित्य के समय और सच को प्रस्तुत करती है।

]]> चंद्रबली सिंह द्वारा नाज़िम हिकमत की कविताओं का यह अनुवाद आपके समक्ष प्रस्तुत करते हुए हमें बहुत खुशी हो रही है। चंद्रबली जी के लिए अनुवाद सांस्कृतिक संवाद का जरिया था। उन्होंने जिन कवियों को अनुवाद के लिए चुना उनके बारे में आजीवन सोचते, पढ़ते रहे। नाज़िम हिक़मत की कवितायें प ज़िंदगी उनके साथ रहीं। यह संकलन उन्होंने अपने जीवन के आखिरी दिनों में तैयार कर लिया था। यहां तक कि कविताओं का क्रम निर्धारित किया जा चुका था और भूमिका को भी अंतिम रूप दिया जा चुका था। लेकिन बीमारी के कारण वे इसे प्रकाशित नहीं करवा सके। उम्मीद है कि नाज़िम हिक़मत की कविताओं का यह अनुवाद इसके पाठकों, विद्यार्थियों और विद्वानों को पसंद आयेगा।

]]> सोशल मीडिया के विभिन्न प्लैटफॉर्म्स पर ‘मैला आँचल समूह’ ने विभिन्न ज्ञानी वक्ताओं के माध्यम से रेणु पर चर्चाएँ आयोजित कीं, कई कलाकारों ने रेणु के जीवन पर आधारित श्रव्य नाटक को ध्वनियाँ दीं, कई ने उनकी कहानियों व उपन्यास ‘मैला आँचल’ का पूरे भाव व सम्मान के साथ पाठ किया। पुस्तकनामा के साथ मिलकर इस पुस्तक का प्रकाशन इस क्रम को आगे बढ़ाने का ही एक प्रयास है। रेणु की कृतियों, उनके व्यक्तित्व, उनके भाषा-शिल्प, उनके पात्रों, उनके राजनीतिक-लेखकीय जीवन से रू-ब-रू कराते व उनकी समालोचना करते 18 आलेख हैं इस पुस्तक में। सभी आलेख रेणु के अलग-अलग पहलुओं को शब्दांकित करते हैं। रेणु की कहानी पर आधारित फिल्म ‘तीसरी कसम’ में एक छोटी-सी भूमिका निभाते एक भावुक कलाकार से लेकर विश्वविद्यालय में विद्यार्थियों के सम्मुख रेणु को विश्लेषित करते विद्वान प्रोफेसरों तक ने इस पुस्तक में रेणु के प्रति अपने विचारों को बड़े ही मनोयोग से प्रस्तुत किया है। आलेखों की कोई शब्द-सीमा निर्धारित नहीं की गई है और ना ही रेणु के सिर्फ किसी एक विषय-वस्तु तक लेखकों को सीमित किया गया है, लेखकों को विचारों की भी पूर्ण स्वतंत्रता दी गई है। यही वज़ह है कि यह पुस्तक रेणु के विविध आयामों को बिना किसी सीमा के छूने में सफल रही है।
